New Captain America Movie In The Works
Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige revealed that the Captain America movie will be a period film, set during World War II.
The movie will be under the name "The First Avenger: Captain America" and will be slated for a May 6th 2011 release date. That's just weeks before Marvels superhero team-up film "The Avengers" hits screens in July.
Holy super hero round up Batman... different movie...
Captain America will likely be doing battle against the evil "Red Skull" - a German Nazi and the hero's main antagonist throughout the years.
It's worth nothing that this will not be the first Captain America movie ever made. Oh no... If you recall correctly (and I know you will) there was a 1990 film classic (and I use "Classic" loosely) named "Captain America" - fittingly enough I suppose. Matt Salinger was cast in the title roll of that movie, and he did what he could with the film - which wasn't much believe me.
That 1990 version of the film for everyone who has not seen it is simply a laugh riot. It was also set in World War II. The YouTube link at the top of this article provides a hilarious look at the 1990 movie. Turn up the volume and enjoy. And I'll be honist you you, I almost came in my pants when I watched that video for the first time.
Lets hope the new movie will be a little bit better then the old one. Actually, I don't think we have to hope, you could film a rock for 90 minutes straight and still get a better movie.
